Lieutenant General Engineer/ Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry, held an extensive meeting with the leaders and heads of bodies affiliated with the Ministry of Industry to review the ministry’s plan and vision during the next stage.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister affirmed that he is honored by the confidence of the political leadership and the Egyptian government by assuming the portfolio of industry in addition to the portfolio of transport, and that the coming period will witness work around the clock to advance the Egyptian industry, stressing that the above will be built upon during the past period to achieve a major breakthrough in the field of industry according to new standards. It is important that this start depends on the hands of the workers in the Ministry of Industry and its affiliated bodies to become at the forefront of successful ministries in the country.
The Minister said that the infrastructure projects that have been completed will be used to develop the industry in all fields according to a comprehensive plan based on rationalizing imports for everything the local market needs and manufacturing them locally with high quality, and working to encourage and maximize exports and benefit from Egypt’s primary materials and raw materials and industries that have a reputation. Large industries such as spinning, weaving, construction, iron, cement, ceramics, and others, which contribute to increasing the hard currency and supporting the Egyptian economy, with a focus on the quality of the product so that it can compete in foreign markets, pointing out that these two axes will lead to employment, which contributes to eliminating unemployment, by During the establishment of new factories, the operation of idle factories, and the solution of all problems of troubled factories according to quick and precise procedures characterized by governance, and attention to training and qualifying human resources and technical workers to raise their level and craftsmanship, which is reflected in the quality of the industry and exporting it abroad to bring in hard currency, immediate approval for restarting and helping the troubled factories to extend the activity. He pointed out that cooperation with military production factories, the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the business sector, and the National Service Agency will help achieve the desired success and for Egypt to become a large industrial base that meets the needs of the local market and expands exports abroad. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Industry indicated that during the last period, a comprehensive plan was implemented to localize the transportation industry in Egypt through cooperation with 8 international companies to establish factories specialized in various railway fields, in addition to the SEMAF factory, as well as establishing 6 factories to produce railway flanges owned by companies.
